Wattpad라는 사이트에 대해 사람들의 관심이 점점 늘어나고 있기에, 영어 실력이 닿는대로 다양한 장르의 이야기들을 구경해보았다. 그리고 발견한 것이 'Playing the Duchess'라는 소설의 소개글이었다.(본문은 아직 읽지 않았다.)

그렇게까지 새로운 건 아닌데, wattpad에서 소개글 본 것 중에는 나름 흥미로워서 가지고 와 보았다. 요약하자면 공작인 남주가 중매쟁이들과 그에게 쏟아지는 구혼을 피하려고 자신에게는 멀리 떨어져 사는 약혼자가 있다고 거짓말을 했었고, 사람들이 계속 궁금해하자 그는 가짜로 약혼자의 죽음을 위장하려고 한다. 그런데 여주가 자신이 그 약혼자라며 거짓말을 했고, 그래서 서로 이해관계가 맞아떨어진 남주와 여주가 서로를 이용하게 되는 내용인 것 같다.
